Our story

Who you're buying from.

Fanture is a small team in Surat. We draw the shoes here, we have them made in China, and the whole range is 5 styles in 16 colourways. Our address, our registration number and our phone number sit at the bottom of every page on this site, not behind a contact form.

Small, on purpose.

The same few people decide what gets made, what it costs and what this site is allowed to say about it. There is no marketing department between you and that decision, which is the reason a page like this one can list the reasons not to buy. When something on a Fanture page turns out to be wrong, there is nobody else it could have been.

The name on your invoice isn't Fanture

The shoes are Fanture. The business behind them is registered as Sarjak Plascon, which is the name on the GST registration and therefore the name printed on your tax invoice. Same people, same address, same Surat building. We are telling you here so that the second name on the invoice is something you already knew instead of something you have to write in and ask about.

Why is the factory in China?

Fanture is designed in Surat, Gujarat. That is where the shapes get decided and the sizes get chosen, for an Indian foot and an Indian monsoon, which is why the chart runs IND-UK 5–11 next to EU 38–46, and why quick-drying is a requirement here rather than a bonus.

The footwear itself is made in China. We say that plainly because you deserve to know where your pair comes from. China's foam-footwear factories are among the best in the world at moulding the high-elastic granule soles our recovery footwear depends on, and working with them lets us hold an honest price without cutting the materials. Designed in Gujarat, made in China, that's the honest line, and we won't dress it up as anything else.

What that factory is good at is one narrow thing: fusing foam granules into a finished sole in a single mould, at a consistency that holds across a whole production run. It is not a cheaper way of making the shoe we would otherwise make in Gujarat. It is the only way we know to make this particular sole properly. The trade we accepted for it is longer lead times and a container crossing an ocean, which is also why an international order ships from our warehouse in China rather than from here.

Heat is what kills them

Keep them out of direct sun and away from heat. CloudFoam™ can shrink or warp if it is left on a hot surface, in a parked car or near a heater, or washed in hot water. Rinse in cool water and dry in the shade. Heat damage is not covered by returns.

We chose this foam knowing that, because the same softness that gives way under a heel is what gives way on a dashboard. Store the pair in shade, dry it indoors, and it stays the shape it left the mould in. What the foam can and can't do

What our returns actually cover

Returns/replacement only for manufacturing defects, reported within 7 days of delivery. That is the whole policy: a manufacturing defect, damage that arrived with the box, or the wrong item in it. If the claim is accepted the reverse pickup is free, and you choose a replacement or a refund to source when you report it.

What it does not cover is a change of mind or a size swap. We would rather say that here than let you find out after the courier has gone. It is also why we spend more effort than most on the size question: there is a worldwide converter on every product page and a fit quiz that asks what you actually stand on all day. If you are between two sizes, message us before you order, not after.

Cash on delivery is available across most Indian PIN codes and carries a ₹50 cash-handling fee, which the courier collects with the order. That fee is what the cash leg actually costs us, so it is printed here and again at checkout rather than appearing on the doorstep.

Four things you will never read here

Each of these was on the site at some point and each of them came off. We would rather earn a smaller sale honestly than a bigger one with a claim we can't back.

No performance percentages

This site once carried three figures about pressure and impact absorption. Nobody could tell you who measured them, on what, or on how many pairs, so they are gone. If a number ever comes back it arrives with the method, the date and the sample size printed beside it.

No reviews we wrote ourselves

A product page shows no star rating until someone who bought a pair leaves one. We could write ten convincing reviews tonight, which is exactly why we don’t. Ratings here come from orders or they don’t exist.

No discount from a number we made up

The crossed-out figure beside each price is the MRP printed on the box, the most a shop is allowed to charge for the pair. We never show a “was” price we invented.

No medical claims

A shoe is not a diagnosis. We can tell you what a contoured footbed does to where your weight sits; we cannot tell you it treats anything, and we won’t. If your feet hurt in a way that worries you, see a doctor first and buy footwear second.

You know who we are now.

5 styles, 16 colourways, EU 38–46, unisex, the same footbed and the same foam in every one of them. The thing that damages that foam is on every product page above the button, not below it.
