Questions we'd rather answer first

Some of these answers are a no. We would rather hand you the no here, where it costs you nothing, than after the courier has gone. Every figure below, the price, the fee, the window, the delivery estimate, is read from the same place the checkout reads it from, so an answer here cannot quietly disagree with what you are charged.

Before you order

What size do I take? +

Indian sizing follows UK, so if you wear IND-UK 8 you want EU 42. The range runs EU 38 to 46, IND-UK 5 to 11, and every pair is unisex.

They fit true to size. If your feet are wide, take the next size up: the chart runs in whole EU sizes, so half a step isn't something we can offer you. Every product page has a converter that takes EU, IND-UK, US, centimetres or inches and gives you the rest, and the fit quiz asks what you stand on all day before it suggests anything.

And if I get the size wrong anyway? +

Then you are stuck with the pair, and we would rather you knew that before you paid than after. There are no size exchanges and no change-of-mind returns.

The reason is not that we enjoy saying no. A worn foam shoe cannot go back on a shelf, and a free-swap window is paid for by everyone who keeps their pair, it goes into the price. Keeping returns to defects is part of how the price stays where it is.

So the effort goes in before the sale instead. If you are between two sizes, message us and one of us will answer, before you order, not after the courier has gone.

Will these actually hold up to standing all day? +

That is the job we build for, and standing is the harder case. Walking unloads a foot every step. Standing on a hard floor holds the same two spots under load for the length of a shift, and a flat sole leaves the arch spanning air the whole time. The ArcFit™ footbed is contoured so the middle of the foot makes contact too, which spreads the same body weight over more of the sole.

One thing we would rather say out loud: this is indoor standing work. Wards, counters, kitchen lines, salon floors, shop floors. CloudFoam™ deforms in heat, so if your shift is on a roof or a forecourt in May, buy something else. We would sooner lose the sale than have you work that out in July.

Are there reviews I can read? +

Not yet. A product page shows no star rating until somebody who bought a pair writes a review, and it will stay that way until they do.

We could fill that space with five stars this evening and nobody outside this building would know. That is exactly why it is empty. A rating on this site is attached to a real order or it does not exist.

The foam, and how not to ruin it

Why can't I leave them in the sun? +

Keep them out of direct sun and away from heat. CloudFoam™ can shrink or warp if it is left on a hot surface, in a parked car or near a heater, or washed in hot water. Rinse in cool water and dry in the shade. Heat damage is not covered by returns.

The softness is the point, and you cannot have it both ways. A foam that yields under a standing heel is the same foam that yields in a hot car; a compound hard enough to survive the dashboard would do nothing for the floor you stand on. We picked the floor.

So dry them indoors, out of direct light. They are quick-drying, so the sun saves you no time and costs you the pair. Keep them off the terrace, out of a parked car, and away from heaters and dryers.

They're waterproof. So why does hot water matter? +

Because it is the temperature that does the damage, not the water. Rain, a wet floor, a rinse under the tap, all fine. The shoe is one waterproof piece with nothing inside it to soak.

A hot rinse, a bucket off the geyser or a hot cycle in a machine is a different thing. That is heat, and heat is what deforms the foam. Cold or lukewarm, every time.

How do I wash them? +

Rinse under a cold or lukewarm tap, with a little mild soap if they have had a rough week. Run a soft brush through the channels in the tread, that is where the grip on a wet floor actually lives, and it is the first thing to clog. Shake the water out through the drainage holes and stand them indoors somewhere with air moving.

No machine, no dryer, no heater, no sun. There is no lining and no removable insole, so washing the shoe is washing all of it, and there is nothing inside left to hold water or smell.

Do they need breaking in? +

No. The footbed is moulded to a shape rather than worn into one, so day fifty feels like day one. If the arch feels unfamiliar at first, that is usually the contour doing its job under a foot that has spent years on flat soles.

Can I wear them outdoors as well? +

Yes. The outsole is a geometric non-slip tread with channels cut through it, so water runs off instead of sitting in a film between the sole and the ground, that film is what makes a wet floor slippery. The whole shoe rinses clean, so there is no reason to keep an indoor pair and an outdoor pair.

Made for indoor and everyday outdoor wear. Not for long hours on hot surfaces, sun-baked roads, rooftops, forecourts, and never to be left in the sun, in a parked car, near a heater, or in hot water.

So: wear them out, rinse them, bring them in. What they are not for is a shift spent standing on a hot surface, sun-baked tarmac, a rooftop, a forecourt, and the habit to break is leaving them somewhere hot afterwards: a terrace, a windowsill, the parcel shelf of a car.

What are they made of? +

One piece of CloudFoam™. The foam is expanded into granules first and then fused into the shape of the sole, so instead of standing on one block you are standing on thousands of small ones, which is why it packs down more slowly than a cut-and-pressed EVA slab. No fabric lining, no glued-in insole, nothing layered that can come apart.

A shoe weighs roughly 120 g at EU 42. That is the EU 42 figure specifically; bigger sizes use more foam and we have not weighed every one of them, so we quote the size we know.

Paying, and getting it to you

Is cash on delivery available? +

Yes, across most Indian PIN codes. It carries a ₹50 cash-handling fee, added at checkout and collected with the order, that fee is what the cash leg actually costs us to run, so it is printed here and again at checkout rather than turning up on the doorstep. Paying up front by UPI, card or netbanking through Razorpay avoids it and gets the order dispatched sooner.

How long does delivery take? +

Shipping inside India is free, and a parcel usually takes 2–5 days once it leaves us. It is dispatched from Gujarat, India.

For your own PIN code, use the checker on the tracking page, it asks the courier for a date rather than us guessing at one. You hear from us when the courier actually scans the parcel, not when the label is printed: the courier name and the tracking number arrive on WhatsApp and email at that point.

Made in China, is that a quality problem? +

The shoes are designed in Surat and made in China. We put that on the page rather than in the small print.

What that factory is narrowly good at is one thing: fusing foam granules into a finished sole in a single mould, at a consistency that holds across a whole production run. That is the sole this shoe is. It is not a cheaper version of one we would otherwise make in Gujarat.

The trade we accepted for it is longer lead times and a container crossing an ocean, and it is also why an international order ships from our warehouse in China instead of from here.

Do you ship outside India? +

Yes. Pick your country in the footer and the price, the delivery estimate and the shipping cost all switch to that destination's terms. International orders are billed in INR, because that is the currency our payment provider settles in, the converted figure you see is a courtesy, not a second price. Where a country charges import duties they are payable on delivery rather than at checkout, and in that case the note sits beside the price instead of waiting for the doorstep.

Distributors and bulk buyers have their own page.

When something goes wrong

What exactly counts as a defect? +

Three things: something wrong with how the pair was made, damage that arrived with the parcel, or the wrong pair in the box. Reported within 7 days of delivery, with photos. That is the whole list.

What it does not cover is a change of mind, a size swap, heat damage, or a fault that turns up after a fortnight of wear and a wash. Each of those is written out with examples on the policies page, because "manufacturing defect" is a phrase a policy writes and a customer has to guess at.

How does a return actually run? +

You report it within 7 days with photos, and you say at that point whether you want a replacement or a refund, you choose, not us. We answer within 72 hours.

Only if the claim is approved does a courier collect, free, from your address. Please don't post anything back on your own: a parcel with no approved claim behind it cannot be accepted or refunded. A replacement is dispatched as soon as the pickup is scanned; a refund reaches your original payment method within 5–7 working days of the pair getting back to us.

Can I change the address, or cancel? +

Until the parcel is handed to the courier, yes, and you can do both yourself. Open the order on the tracking page with your order number and the mobile you used, and the buttons are there while the order is still with us.

After pickup, neither is possible. Refusing the parcel at the door is not a cancellation either: tell us instead, otherwise it travels back across the country while nobody knows why.

What if the parcel stops moving? +

A day or two of silence in transit is normal, couriers scan at handover points, not continuously, and a gap does not mean a parcel is lost.

The one thing worth acting on is a failed delivery attempt. That means the courier came and could not hand the parcel over, and you will get a message from us asking what to do next. Answer it even if the answer is "try tomorrow": a second failure sends the parcel back to us as a return-to-origin, which means freight paid both ways and the pair still not with you.

My size is out of stock, what now? +

Tap the size marked "Notify" on the product page and leave your mobile number. You get a WhatsApp message when that size is back.

It is an alert, not a hold. The pair still has to be bought when the message arrives, and we are not going to pretend one is being kept aside for you.

Who you're dealing with

Who am I actually buying from? +

Fanture is the brand. The business behind it is registered as Sarjak Plascon, in Surat, Gujarat, that second name is the one printed on your tax invoice, alongside GSTIN 24ETYPK4258P1ZL. The person who signs it, and who handles a complaint if it comes to that, is .

There are two founders and they are both named on the about page, with the address and the phone number at the bottom of every page on this site rather than behind a contact form.

How do I reach a human? +

WhatsApp or call +91 97124 92480, or email support@fanture.in. Hours are 10am–7pm IST, 7 days.

This is a two-person business, so the reply comes from one of the two names on the about page, there is no queue with a stranger at the end of it, and there is no faster line we are keeping for somebody else. If we cannot settle something between us, the grievance route and the 72-hour acknowledgement it carries are written out on the returns page.

Not on the list? Ask before you buy, not after.
