If you read nothing else
  • 01IND and UK are the same number. EU runs higher. Centimetres are the only figure that does not depend on a brand.
  • 02Measure in the evening, standing, both feet, and use the larger one.
  • 03Between two sizes, take the larger. Too tight never becomes comfortable.
  • 04A wrong size is not a returnable reason here, so the ten minutes this takes is the cheapest ten minutes in the transaction.

Shoe sizing is genuinely confusing: the same foot is a UK 8, an EU 42 and a US 9, and no two labels agree. India follows the UK scale, so IND and UK are the same number. Read this one before you order rather than after, because our returns do not cover a size that turned out wrong, that is stated plainly further down, along with what you can actually do about it.

The full table

EU is the size printed on our footwear and the one the stock is held in; everything else in this table is a conversion from it. The centimetre column is foot length, not shoe length.

Between two rows, take the larger

The range is unisex and runs EU 38–46 in whole sizes, in the steps above. If your measurement falls between two rows, say 26.0 cm, between EU 41 and EU 42, the answer is the larger one.

The same applies anywhere you land between rows. Take the larger. These are open or slip-on shapes with a contoured footbed that still cradles the foot when there are a few millimetres to spare, so extra room reads as relaxed rather than sloppy. Too small reads as too small forever.

How to measure a foot properly

You need a wall, a sheet of paper, a pencil and a ruler. Do it in the evening: feet spread and swell through the day, and the shoe has to work at hour eleven rather than hour one.

Put the paper on a hard floor with one short edge tight against the wall. Stand on it, standing, not sitting, because the foot lengthens under load, with your heel against the wall and your weight on that foot. Mark the tip of your longest toe, which is not always the big one. Measure from the wall edge to the mark in centimetres.

Do both feet. Most people have one that is a few millimetres longer, and the larger one is the one you are buying for. Match that number to the foot-length column above.

Wide feet, and what we do not offer

There is no wide fitting in this range. The ladder is length only, and we would rather write that sentence than let you discover it. If your foot is wide, going up one step gains you a little width along with the length, and on an open shape that is usually enough to stop the edge of the foot overhanging the footbed.

If your foot overhangs the footbed of your current pair, that is a fit problem rather than a foot problem, the whole foot is supposed to sit on the platform, and a foot perched on a narrow ledge is loading a strip of foam rather than a footbed.

What happens if you get it wrong

Nothing good, which is why this page exists. Our returns cover a manufacturing defect, damage that arrived with the box, or the wrong item in it, reported within 7 days. A size that does not fit is not on that list, and neither is a change of mind. There is no size swap.

That is a real cost to you, so here is what it buys: no returns cost priced into the shoe, and no incentive for us to be vague about fit in the hope you order twice. What we do instead is put the converter on every product page, publish this guide, and answer sizing questions before you order, message us with your centimetre measurement and we will tell you the size, including when the answer is that we do not have one for you.

If a pair is already sitting in your house in the wrong size, we would rather you gave it to someone it fits than left it in a box. We would also rather you had read this first.

Where this guide stops

A tape measure cannot tell you about the top of your foot. Instep height, how a toe post sits between your toes, whether a band across the forefoot suits you, none of that is in a centimetre figure, and we do not have a fitting room to solve it in. If your feet are unusual in a way you already know about, ask us before ordering rather than hoping the table covers it.

Frequently asked

Is Indian shoe size the same as UK size?

Yes. India follows the UK scale, so IND and UK are the same number. IND/UK 8 is EU 42, which is a foot about 26.5 cm long.

What is EU 42 in IND/UK and US?

EU 42 is IND/UK 8, US Men's 9, US Women's 10.5, and a foot length of roughly 26.5 cm. The full table is above and repeated on every product page with a live converter.

I am between two sizes, which do I take?

The larger one. The range runs true to size, and on an open slip-on shape a few millimetres of room is comfortable while too tight never breaks in. This matters more here than at most shops, because we do not accept a return for size.

Can I return a pair if the size is wrong?

No. Returns cover a manufacturing defect, damage on arrival or a wrong item, within 7 days of delivery. Size and change of mind are not covered and there is no exchange. Measure first, and message us if you are unsure.
